Microgrid is an electrical power system that uses local and distributed energy sources to meet local electricity needs and can operate independently of the national electricity grid.

This system can be independent from the grid or in the form of backing up the grid... Grid-connected systems are also called hybrid microgrids. It is a small-scale, independent network that can operate in island mode, which can continue to meet its energy needs in cases where the mains power is cut off or of insufficient quality.

BA microgrid can be powered by renewable energy sources such as diesel/gas generators, battery energy storage system and/or solar panels/wind turbines. These networks can operate continuously depending on the source and how they are fed, the load requirements and how the system is managed.
